Jorge et al: the coins attached to the M422a, 55J14, and G-1 zipper pulls indicate the number of tours/assignments or efforts (wish i could be more specific) on the Asian/Korean continent. Learned this from a USMC enlisted pilot at MCALF Camp Pendeton, Ca in 1968. i asked him about the coins on his jacket. as memory serves, he was MGySgt "Rip" Shrader (not sure of surname spelling).
