Well, I've done my bit - unless there are some specific areas of the jacket that arrived here yesterday someone would like photographing.

As for politics in this thread. Not my style sorry, political opinions are like **se holes, everyone has one but as far as I'm concerned it's just not the done thing to wave them about in public. No politics & religion in the Lodge & mess and all that.

It might have passed you by, but the EU or Common Market as it was at first was primarily established to prevent another European war. The last of which my father was in from the beginning in 1939 to the end. He's long dead, but he would be disgusted by comparisons of Nazi Germany which was a repugnant and murderous entity to a political organisation like the EU.

Whatsit seems to have edited his post which this was in reply to. So it now makes no sense. I aways think you should have the courage of your convictions and not change posts when they're criticised.

Observationally, this thread is 21 pages long, which I’m sure most would agree agree is substantial for this forum. It is entitled “Platon Dubow seal?” I never thought that the question mark at the end meant, shall we talk about Platon Dubow seal jackets, or something else?!

We’ve had so many threads about Platon over the years and one thread that references him and his jackets so specifically for critique seems to have wandered into more topics than an episode of “Mastermind” other than, of course that of Platon Dubow seal jackets! I think we’ve had two (in seal) and 21 pages of “stuff”!

It’s a funny old world!

Here are the measurements of a Dubow I found on Ebay:

shoulder to shoulder 17 inches. top of shoulder to end of cuff 25 inches. arm pit to arm pit 20 1/4 inches . top of collar to end of waste band 25 inches

Seems a tad longer than Platon's jacket, but maybe it wasn't measured correctly
