Baltic up here in Scotland, 27 Yr old alc irvin dug out for 1st time this winter,for tonight's dog walk, great warm jacket.

Nothing wrong with an ALC or Cirrus for that matter. Beautifully made and whilst not 100% accurate repros they're great evocations of the Irvin style of flying jacket.

Warmer too.

These used to be readily available in vintage and Army/Navy stores through the aughts I'd say. Then something happened...

If I took a guess I would say that people with a little bit of fore sight bought up stockpiles of them and sat on them for a while and then turned them into cash.
And to add to this comment , I expect that G-1s will slowly begin to thin out over the next few years as well .

Burt that’s the only reason I’m building up a stock of G1 - and then - in 50 years …

Honestly I think the more we get ahead in time the more also the “cheaper” G1-versions (1970ies and younger) will get more valuable

It's blasted cold and my knees have started to mention it. From Ashbourne to Buxton must have dropped 5 degrees. Definitely B3 weather! With the matching fleece trousers too!
