With total respect to all of you and your responses ( Not you Julius), and particularly Alan ( Persimmon) and his understated sense of humor, which is fairly on point as well, I would like to ask that we step back for a second and let’s look at what’s taking place in
this thread from a different perspective.

Headwind and Jay have been around this forum for a while, first as a member and then as a manufacturer. He developed his business thru his interaction with most of us and thru sales of his products to several of us and his outside customers . He’s worked hard to get his business developed and started on the ground floor with a one or two man operation in 2015, according to the profile for Headwind Manufacturing which is listed here on VLJ. Admittedly Jay has run into hard times with some recent health issues and a motorcycle accident but he’s still here plugging away trying to reestablish himself and to grow his business. With one recent exception Jay has never produced a bad product or left anyone hanging. Several people here have purchased jackets from Jay and I don’t recall him ever scamming anyone. Those are the relevant facts that we should be considering here.
Now this buffoon Julius comes along with no factual evidence or least none that he can share with anyone and is accusing Headwind of scamming and swindling people here on the forum and cheating his customers. He’s has attempted to single handedly destroy and defame a mans business and reputation with unsupported allegations and innuendos . Now he’s also attempting to have the man barred from VLJ, once again with nothing but his uncorroborated bullshit as a basis for this action.
In most places around the world a person is innocent until proven guilty of any wrong doing. This idiot offers no proof of anything but demands that he be shown proof of Jays
manufacturing procedures and materials. I don’t know about you guys, but none of this is humorous to me. This clown is trying to destroy someone and their business that took hard work and lots of personal capital to develop. So my question to all of you is why are we tolerating and humoring this kind of behavior. This fool is trying to harm and destroy someone’s livelihood. If anyone should have his VLJ membership terminated this kind of underhanded behavior would certainly warrant it. You may all have differing opinions on this, but this is my opinion.

Ban hammer for Julius is fine with me. He has an agenda... no business needs to bow to his demands nor show him, an anonymous stranger, any information regarding said business. Julius is bordering on defamation and character assassination over his opinion and hearsay. its become abusive. His attacks aren't warranted. I second his banning from the forum for agitation, provocation and intimidation of reputable and respected members. continuous badgering is a banishable crime in my opinion.

Frankly, I'd feel more smitten wearing a leather incorrectly, but honestly, declared as capeskin knowing of all the investigative work and research going into making such a declaration, than an actual capeskin jacket sans that passion or humility. At least that tells a story.

Once again,
I do use real Capeskin so I am not really concerned with what another Mfg Says about how authentic or more genuine theirs is. I know mine is genuine and the color, thickness, and grain are perfect for the jackets we are reproducing.

Since our hides match the original jackets, I don't see how it can be improved upon.
Beyond the matching aesthetics of our hides, the leather feels fantastic in hand. Light, thick, very soft and flexible. If you haven't handled Capeskin before, it is immediately recognizable as something unique and different.

Lets have a look at this mythical hide.

It will be interesting to see if this new, "more genuine", grainy Capeskin will sell.

Good Wear and Eastman both tried Cape that looked a lot like the grainy sample shown by Julius, Ribbiness & Bubbles et al. It was not a seller. Nobody thought it looked like the hides used on the original jackets. Too grainy and gnarled. They both changed over to smoother hides. Headwind also released a grainy Capeskin and then we had a smoother type made because of overwhelming customer demand.

I am interested to see this earthshattering release.

There is already a reputable Mfg that has claimed for years that they have the only Real Capeskin on the market. This has had no effect at all on the market.

This new case of the same claims will do the same.

It will be no more significant than a bubble popping in a bubble bath.

Who really cares what you have to say. Jackets are good and you should get some evening classes to keep you occupied.
