I wonder what BK's backlog is like now? I ordered an ARCO in early March and still have gotten no indication that it's been started. It would be nice to actually see where I am in line and how much they're producing now. But the truth is, it's gonna be fcking hot for a few months anyway. I ordered a Bronco from Aero back in early March, too, and I'll bet it takes them eaven longer to make it. But at least Aero (Holly is great!) regularly replies to emails.

I ordered a RW from ELC, got an instant email reply and the jacket came in 3 days. Paying the extra money makes a difference in terms of service, and it's also the most beautiful repro i've ever seen with a hide i want to sleep in.

There's a bunch more from both me and @Brettafett if you troll through the what jacket are you wearing today thread.

Usual timescale is about 3-4 months. Before COVID they were down to about 12-14 weeks, but I think they've got a bit of a backlog now, so it's longer.

Beautiful, that is a perfect fit. Your joy is obvious beyond your face mask.

ELC still has a lot of stock in regular sizes. If you wanted a long you'd bet you'd be waiting...

Im tempted to order a russet BK... and/or Platon russet, but I have enough jackets tbh
But... not a russet A-2, and that may be a crime.

I placed an order for a Star at about the same time, and Andy recently estimated it would be done sometime in July or August. You’re probably in the same camp, but depending on the details you ordered, your wait could be very different.

Go for it, Brett. Russet’s a classic, and liberty russet’s a beautiful shade.

Brett, that also is a great fit. Apart from collar, how is the fit comparison to the Dubow, I should ask Mulceber this too...

The big thing that stands out to me is that Rough Wears have higher/tighter arm holes than the Dubow. For me, that makes it a bit less comfortable (although I love the look). Some people find it more comfortable. The collar on the Rough wear sits a bit further back, and the Dubow is also a bit more relaxed in the belly. It feels like an altogether different style of jacket.

Interesting my Dubow 42 is fairly snug, wouldn’t want to get any tighter underarm. I think we have the same size Dubow you both went with 42 in BK. I like the differences that you mention Mulceber in trim & collar Thankyou.

Yep, same size. And I didn't go for any special measurements, so my BK Dubow is probably indistinguishable (in terms of fit) from a Platon Dubow. If you're looking to try new contracts (which is one of my priorities when ordering), it might be worth telling Andy you really like the fit of the Dubow and ask if he has any contracts that are similarly comfortable, but look different. Their Aero contracts might be a good choice, as I'm told they have a relaxed fit.

The 23380 (or its RW relatives) are the coolest, best looking A-2 contracts by a country mile.

my love for the 23380 actually came from a pre-Liberty/Victory jacket I had from BK. It looked so good, but was absolutely unwearable and too tight. One really needs to go up 1-2 sizes on these. I just looked at my old classified for it on TFL from 2012 (pics long gone), my p2p for a 40 measured around 20 inches. Could very well have measured incorrectly but it was TIGHT.

Further to what Jan says...

Both my BK Dubows (and Platon's ;) )and RW23380 are 42 longs.
Generally they all fit me 100%, wouldn't change a thing - thats why these are sure keepers.
I absolutely love my RW23380, this RW is the best RW repro I have ever owned... for me personally, hands down.
I do find it slightly trimmer in the body and torso, slightly... The shoulders are a touch wider and the armholes a touch smaller.
These differences are not by much mind you, and only because of being able to try them on, and compare.

I love the RWs collar, it has such a classic profile, and for standing up in the wind, its so comfy ... But I also love the Dubow's iconic, simple and stylish collar.
These jackets are all winners, and just highlight how two different contacts can be similar and yet still, different.

Platon's Dubow left, BK Dubow centre and BK RW23380 right.

Heres another quick comp of my BKs, all 42L:
BK RW23380, Dubow V1 (when I almost sold it. Insane), Dubow V2 (slightly longer sleeves 1.5")

That does make a case for poor customer service and a lack of consideration. Especially since he has your money. It’s a very unsettling feeling when you’re placed in that position.

I can't get over how different the leather of your Platon Dubow looks compared to the BK jackets. Do they look similar in real life?

Not that much different, very similar hue. Platon's has a touch more sheen, BK a touch more grain, BK ever so slightly lighter, both leathers are fantastic.

What slightly bothers me is that Andy posts on Facebook every day, but I haven't got a reply from him saying "OK, I got your money and your mail about your custom length, we'll get it done".
Yes, this is one reason I'm reluctant to jump in with another order... Go through this waiting-game again... But, a russet A-2 is calling.
And if I do eventually go for it, it will be a BK or Platon.

Yeah, the Platon one is Vincenza, isn't it?
Im not sure. I have samples of both Platon's and Aeros Vicenza (ok well over a year old, Aero a bit older, and they are not quite the same). This may be due to different batches, possible same tannery, hard to tell for sure.
