We've put a lot of thought into figuring out the potential options regarding how to handle a vendor posting on VLJ, and have come to a consensus.

VLJ has always had a very "hands-off" moderation, and we believe that this approach has served the forum well over the years. We simply demand mutual respect and civility in exchange for participation. The expertise and knowledge shared by our vendors is a net positive for the board, and we want to encourage it (though in the case of John, I'm guessing he might not participate as much as he could because he'd be hit with a litany of replies like "WHY ARE YOU POSTING AND NOT SEWING??" ;) ).

Manufacturers such as Ken, Diamond Dave, John, and any others are welcome to post in any area of VLJ, to share their knowledge/opinions regarding jackets, leather, sewing, the business, other vendors, etc., so long as as they are being civil, and not saying anything considered libelous in the USA.

If you disagree with a poster's opinion, say so. Rebut their assertion if you like, but do it with civility and tact. We expect them to treat you the same in return. We all are capable of disagreement without being vindictive or ugly to each other.

If somebody is really just driving you crazy, use the board's "ignore" feature. You can find it by clicking on their name to bring up their profile, and hitting the "ignore user" link. I think you'll find it makes your day a lot more enjoyable.

P.S., if John does post any, please don't harass him. Yes, he has a long wait for jackets, but he still deserves downtime like anybody else.

Just a thought about manufacturing in Greece. We are in Greece right now and often come here in summer. So many times taxi drivers have told us the taxes on small businesses here are absolutely crippling, so I'm not sure how this might affect prices but would assume it would put up over heads.

comments like e.g. "this doesn't look like our vicenza" that are not backed with evidence. Cause that's pure slandering.
If you can take it, DNA test it and then say it's not vicenza, then I am with you. Do you have the balls?

Check below, similar size pics, same part of jacket, same leather (?)
Do we really need a DNA test?

Is it just the old truth at work that a good craftsman, designer, or connaisseur, is usually a poor salesman?

Or does inept use of the innertoobz actually make poor salesmen out of good ones?

Since I've received a PM insinuating that I may have relationship with Ken and Aero, I figured I'd clarify here.

VLJ has no sponsors. I pay for all of its expenses out of my own pocket. Neither Ken nor Aero have ever provided financial support or consideration to me, VLJ, or the Fedora Lounge. I have never even owned or purchased any items from Aero, period.

The decision we made is purely in the interest of what's best for the forum. Having makers post here is good for the long term growth and health of the site.
