Eastman Luftwaffe - 50% off @ HPA

Thought I’d share. Looks like ELC is discontinuing this model. Priced reasonably, with some larger sizes left.

Tempted, but I think the 44 would be too large on me with a 24.5-25” chest. These apparently do run very narrow in the waist.

It's still on the Eastman site at full price so it might just not be being sold by the US importers anymore. Apart from the jacket being obviously historically inaccurate I wonder if the idea of wearing an 'enemy' jacket was just never liked by Americans? Going back a few years I remember reading comments on the FL site by a few people in the US that they wouldn't wear one even though they liked the stye because it was supposedly based on a German jacket.

Eastman did change its name a few years back but they might have had more luck calling it a French resistance jacket or something. Or even a cycling jacket...

Es ist eine OK jacke. Es wäre besser mit angled pocketen...

Thank you for the heads up!
That's a screaming deal.

I ordered one of these in size 40, black was the only
color choice then in the early 1990's. Although not
an "accurate" Luftwaffe jacket, it was a great to
wear, and certainly an eye-catcher.

After I bulked up in the 2000's, I gave it to a great
friend who wears it to this very day.

When the Hartmann's were released, I ordered 2 of
those (brown and black), size 40, the Hartmann's
were unique and quite fetching.
Those size 40 Hartmann's have been in storage for 20+ years...

With this most generous discount, I have to take the plunge
and re-acquire another...

Edit due to Oldtimers disease..

Wow. I absolutely love mine, size 44 in black bought in '21. What a great price for such quality, no complaints whatsoever. At all.
Fit photos are always welcomed, post em whenever you have time .
Cheers

A Luftwaffe jacket inaccurate, even fancy. But a damn fine jacket, and probably a good deal for the price (being perfectly honest, I think it's still a bit expensive, even with a 50% discount...).
I almost considered buying one (a used jacket) to ride my bike, until I imagined the sound of that big belt buckle hitting the tank...

Indeed, a very very stiff jacket until fully broken-in.
After break-in, it works very well for riding 2 wheels.

Mine too had the original Luftwaffe label, I guess that
fact may have hurt sales to those "sensitive" to such.
Hence the change to Ostmann. But the Luftwaffe label
was very well done.

Only really works for me in the colder parts of the year, would have loved a lighter weight version. I find it’s a jacket you can dress up or down with making it very versatile.

Hovered over a brown 44... impressed myself with my restraint.. The blacks had sold. Black would have been inbound. Great jackets..
