Thanks for the information everyone. Yeah, that makes sense, there couldn't be an AAF stamp before it was the AAF. It never occurred to me that every jacket might not be inspected. The reason I began to wonder is that I have a Aero 16160 from Good Wear that isn't stamped. It's a test jacket...
Oh my God. I own 2 Goodwears, both test jackets, and haven't worked up to putting in a full price order. I think that's just changed.

Wow, I'd love to find one of those. I think they are great looking jackets. I'm an eagle scout and if my memory serves me right those jackets disappeared some time around the mid-eighties. I think they were still for sale at that point, but I never saw one actually worn by anyone. On the other...
One of my favorite patches. There is a website with a huge collection of squadron patches that I can't find right now (I think the guy mostly had stuff about jeeps on his site aside from the patch section) where I first saw it.
Thanks Peter. Yeah, one thing that is just right is the torso length. I do worry that I'd wind up with a jacket that's too short in the body with a 46.
So I picked up this ELC B-10 a while back and I can't decide whether it's a decent fit. The jacket is a size 48 and I'm wondering if I might do better with a 46. The sleeves tunnel as you can see, and there seems to be a good deal of room in the lower torso. On the other hand I've only had...
Its a test jacket I bought from Jeff/Rotenhahn I while back. If I'd spent for the full fledged mama I don't think I consider putting stitch holes in it. ;)
I guess I should have been a bit more specific. Yeah, I was talking about shoulder patches. Contrailchaser had a gorgeous one for sale that came off a B-10 (pic below) and I started thinking that it would look really nice on a jacket. It sold for for than I would pay for a patch and I wouldn't...
As I'm getting a bit more into A-2's, there's been a question I've had on my mind for a while. Is there any pattern to where particular contracts wound up in service? For example do certain contracts turn up more often in the 8th AF, while others show up mostly from CBI? Are there no patterns at...
I think there might have been some information on this on the old forum, but sadly its lost now. Were bullion patches actually used very often on A-2's? If so, where were they more commonly or less commonly to never used? Anyone know offhand?
Thanks,
Rick
