i absolutely ruined a d-1 by trying to do this. it shrunk to half of its size. call me a dummy if you must , but i wouldnt reccomend doing this to anyone.

i have several B-3 jackets that are all originals. none of them have any indication of name tags or unit badges ever being sewn on to them. is there any significance to this or were the jackets with tags on them generally owned by officers only? were jackets just randomely handed out on mission...

i have a reasonably nice D-1 jacket that was very dry and brittle when i bought it. over a period of weeks i oiled it with carr's leather oil. the problem is that as the jacket has softened up considerably it has also gotten very heavy and i'm sure that i have overdone it with the oil. it seems...
basically what they are is a fibreglass body mounted upon a vw floorpan/chassis. there are many different variations of body style that can be mounted on this chassis. a fellow that i work with has a lemans style porche racer body on a vw pan. its pretty over the top though, it kinda looks like...

well... i too will respectfully take what you have said under advisement, however i guess that i am just a stickler for original jackets. in my opinion the cut on the straps is wrong and the material is too light a color. if it does in fact have two hand warmer pockets on it then thats out too...
