i have several B-3 jackets that are all originals. none of them have any indication of name tags or unit badges ever being sewn on to them. is there any significance to this or were the jackets with tags on them generally owned by officers only? were jackets just randomely handed out on mission days and returnd to a depot later or did one crewman generally keep the same jacket for the duration of his tour? one of my jackets as the numbers 819 painted on the left sleave. any ideas as to the meaning of this? thanks.
