I guess the question is if she wants knit cuffs and waist or something more civilian style. LOTS of options out there. I made this one for my wife a few years back, it's a copy of her grandfathers' jacket from the 30's (Tweedy Cossack).

Don't forget there is no one right length- it all depends on the jacket pattern, shoulder width, etc. Best to have a conversation with the maker to find what you are looking for.

Just to fanboy here- it gives me great pleaseure to own some amazing jackets by other makers. Knowing how difficult these are to construct just makes it all the better. I picked this up from Chapman after he told me about it in a conversation we were having a while back. Goodwear B-1.
