Hey Pete, nice vintage gear.
Weather & temps. almost perfect for morning rides. Bit warm in afternoon. Damn hot on lower deserts. I've been riding a couple of the vintage (old) BMW GSs. But now camping near Flagstaff - tall, cool pines.
Happy summer.
Ric.
Pete; maybe you need to come ride in Arizona. Beautiful spring weather in mountains & desert is in bloom (cacti & wild flowers). Warm weather & easy ride always helps my back & winter blues. And, I have a couple of extra BMWs that need exercising.
Best, Ric.
Pete; thanx for the encouragement. I usually like to buy Moto gear used. Probably saw that on F.L. Kinda worried about buying w/out trying on. Glad to hear you 'got lucky'!
Wear it in good health & great ADVentures!!
BTW, are you on "ADVenture Rider" as well?
Regards, RIC.
Peter; that is a fine looking jacket. Recently told wife I'd like to have a "proper biker jacket" w/fur collar to add to my collection of seldom worn gear. She just gives me 'that look'- "what're'ya nuts?" Or maybe she thinks I'll buy a 'hardly D.' next. So, did you get it new or used?
Luv it!!
Thanx, Stony. No tags/labels or evidence of having had any.
I didn't know anything about it, except color is real close to the B-15c sage & flaps almost same as collar on jacket. No matter if it's civi. It is still warm with our cold Arizona winter.
Here's a pic of the B15:
Anyone tell me what this cap is? Got it when I bought my
B-15c jacket at estate sale. No tags, pretty good cond., strings are o.k. could use a cleaning, but that's "patina" - eh?!
Thanx, Ric.
The jacket is stiff, rather thin leather. From the early to mid 1980s. Made for BMW Motorad by an unknown maker in West Germany. I don't use it for riding any longer. But it seems a shame to leave at back of the closet.
So, question is how to preserve it to wear & enjoy?
I have...
Brought these out of the back of the closet. Nearly forget I have 'em. From early to mid-1980s. Don't use them now.
But interesting bit of history. Don't know maker, but marked
"West Germany".
Pete, looks like an FXR "Low Rider"? Believe it or not, in 45 yrs of motos I've never owned a 'Harley. Un-American, I know. They just don't fit my riding style/preference.
Did check out a FXR-RS (sport) once back in early '90s.
But always leaned more to off road/dirt & dual sport...
