What is the warmest jacket you own? What is your ideal extreme cold weather jacket?

My warmest coat is a 1941 US 32oz melton wool overcoat, a close second is my 1943 US officers trench coat, will try to post pics of both soon

Here you go, I went with black liner for some reason, must have made sense at the time. I got moleskin in the arms, which isn’t particularly clingy, not enough to bother me anyway.

Through years of cold weather survival training , and dealing with the extreme cold weather Florida temperatures, I’ve learned that when those temperatures drop below
70 F/ 21C , layering is a must . So I choose to use this technique frequently down here using my BOB Sweater , my M-444 , and as a top layer my original WWII Royal Navy Duffle Coat.

OMG.... I’m losing my mind aren’t I . I’ve been shut in too long ... Somebody call for help !!

That's the problem do you or don't wear them? Its difficult as you really want to persevere them on the other hand if it makes you feel good and proud to wear It i think it's done a good job

Yes, I've noticed. It's the same with its lighter 'relative' that I have, a 1951 Overall, Flying, Cold Weather Mk1. Prices seem to have gone insane. Also a lovely very well made coat:

Mine has some intriguing rank stripes on the epaulets that seem to indicate an RAF Air Marshal.

Anyway I always buy coats in my size to wear. Although nowadays it almost never reaches temperatures that would make sense to wear the 'beast'.

It's an ATF one, really beautifully put together. Thoroughly recommend them if you're after a German repro WWII parka.
