just seen these last few posts and the photo of teh Willys has made me rather sad. after years of nor using mine I finally sold it a year ago after owning it 40 years and having made many D-day reunion trips to Normandy including the 40th, 45th and 50th, apart from those and a few rallies in UK it was hardly ever used. I bought it from a friend, Peter Gray who started the Military Vehicle Conservation Group (now the Military Vehicle Trust) back in the early '70s, some of you may remember his Hell on Wheels group. before I had the jeep I used to go on the small group Normandy tours he arranged in the early '70s. It came with the original UK buff log book,showing it had been released from the British Army in 1955 but had then been re-stencilled in US livery of the 101st airborne, which I kept.
For those interested here is a couple of photos at Pegasus Bridge and Quineville on the 45th or 50th tour (memory's going), but to keep it forum related - I am wearing an original H&L Block M422A (this was identified a couple of weeks ago by members of teh forum. Thanks again, guys

Peter Gray, now there's a name from way back. As previously mentioned I sold my last Jeep 20 years ago but the Force grew strong again just this year ;)
Nice to see a growth of interest in Jeeps in British service these days, seems like a lifetime ago that they and subsequently Champs, Gypsies and Series 1's were up for grabs at Ruddington etc.

I like how the stitches are visible of your jacket sleeve..they did not do that way on all the contracts...interesting to know why

Looking at other people's Willys can often make you envious...
