Tag seems to say American sportswear
Belongs to a friend who bought it , he plans to replace the zip
Lining was replaced and he saved and replaced the inside tag/label
Knits were replaced also with what he could find
He’s not very internet savvy so I said I’d see what the forum might know
He found it a a local flea market
The pics are from the flea market seller not me.

I’m seeing AN-6552 on the second line of the label. It's a Navy jacket that was released in 1943 for about 6 months. Kinda part of the evolution between M-422A and G-1.

According to JC's CD, American Sportswear was one of the contractors that made the AN-6552. Here's what a much better preserved label would look like:
