@VeraVoulik do you know why the owner decided to opt for a text in French and not something in english to stay with the theme? any historical background to it, maybe?

P.S.: I see that you're using Greg Pons' amazing article from the Fana as a reference . He's a gold mine of information on the subject!

I truly don't know why he asked for the text in French, it was part of his first things when he made the order. All articles and books of Gregory's are great. Specially love his book on 8th and 9th AF.

No, Us customer, vet from 128th Air Refueling Wing. Seems this unit is linked to tradition of 34th Photo Reconnaissance Squadron.

it was my first thought when i saw the legend wrote in french remember me ST EX but the very well detailled P38 you have paint is not his plane.

Patina and stitching will be done by its legitimate owner. I've asked him about patina/weathering, he seems to prefer in new condition so I just waxed it a little bit.

Painting a jacket, for me, is always a long journey before begining the work on the jacket itself, lot of drawings, sketches, readings etc.. If I posted the whole process, all readers here may be bored

Working now on a RealMcCoys A-2 jacket. The project is to replicate a 401st BG's well known jacket, the 'Miss Wing Ding'.

Art was made from a George Petty's girl from 1940 calendar.

First, made the white background, the first skin layers and the feathers native warbonnet.
