Well something very spooky happened today.

A fellow member spotted me out shopping in Guildford on Saturday wearing my custom Few M445. He PM'd me to ask if I wore it that day and yes, he was right. I had no idea that he lived near me and have never been in contact before. So it just goes to show how small the world is and that next time you go out someone maybe watching you !
Having said that though I often hear comments from passing pedestrians to their companions such as ' wow ! did you see that amazing jacket I wonder where he got that from ... ? '
This last one was while wearing my stunning RMNZ Anj-4 with the collar up.

Hi, John,

Small world, indeed.

I have an aunt and uncle who live in Guildford.

Bill it's getting weird now....

I just talked to the wife - the all knowing oracle of all things - the aunt and uncle just moved to a retirement home in Cranleigh about 7 miles away.

Mine are at Haslemere, that's 18 miles out ... lets send them all round to John's for a meeting of Relatives with Flight Jackets.

Interesting. I'm not worth a damn at remembering faces. If I ever saw one of y'all, I probably wouldn't know it. People talk to me all the time about cases I've prosecuted "for them"; others yammer on about how well they are doing now that they're out of prison. I always smile and act like I remember, but I never do. If some crazed, just-released convict ever decided to cap my ass for sending him to prison all those years ago...well, I'd just be screwed. I'd never recognize him until ten minutes after I was dead.

After all my years on this board and on Fedora Lounge, I only know of one person I've actually met from either forum. A lawyer from Chapel Hill dropped by my office one day a couple of years ago and I recognized him from his avatar on FL. I shook his hand and called him by his user name and he was stunned. He looked at me like I had just caught him screwing a goat.

"The Society of the Paranormal was having a convention in town and there were many attendees. The president of the society was at the podium delivering the opening address to all who were there in body and in spirit, and he asked the question:

"Who of you have had the occasion to see a ghost?". There was a showing of perhaps forty hands, to which the speaker asked,

"Who of you have had the occasion to speak with a ghost?". Once again the conventioneers raised hands, counting thirty or so.

Then the question, "Who of you have had the occasion to have actually touched a ghost?", to which about ten hands were waved about. The speaker paused for a moment, and then delivered another query,

"Who of you have had the occasion to have sex with a ghost?”, and in the far back of the auditorium a lone hand was raised.

"Would the usher please escort that individual with his hand raised to the stage? I simply must inquire further." And with a couple of moments delay the man was brought forward, who incidentally turned out to be a wee Scotsman in full kilt no less. When the Scot arrived on stage, the speaker asked him, "Well Sir, tell us what it was like to have sex with a ghost.", to which the man replied, "Ghost? Oh man, I thought you said goat!".

I have the opposite problem of Atticus. I remember people's faces almost always... but their names are another matter!

(I'll at least remember the face of the SOB I sent to prison, but not his name probably, as he tries to cap me.)

Ha! I remember it as a nice village, with some lovely early buildings, and when I was there, full of antique shops.

No great change in the architecture thankfully David (some fine Arts & Crafts buildings and earlier). Bit of a turnover in businesses, but still a few antique shops to visit.

My wife comes from Guildford-we used to go there quite regularly, until all her family moved down here! We used to stay at her aunt's in East Horsley.

Morning gents.
Well i best confess it was me that spotted john.....dont know if thats sad or not.
I figured Ian (Dr H) was local to the area, not sure if he remembers i spoke with him regarding a Perry.
Just goes to show with a small bit of effort we could easily arrange a small gathering and a chance to share a yarn over a warm beer!!!there seems to be a small group in and around Guildford....perhaps we could create a spotted column.....
I didnt have time to stop and say hi to John and perhaps it wouldnt have been appreciated on a days shopping but it is funny how with a small bit of effort how local some of us are to eachother and yet we sit here sending emails most of the time and never get round to an impromptu meet.

I'll be back this sat. wearing my old Eastman sheepskin. We usually end up in House of Fraser tea rooms on the top floor at some point.
