My opinion is...it turned out great, nice job!
Sort of on the fence regarding the before/after, as it looks great both ways. I would wear it proudly either way.
But just me personally, I would rather have a healthy leather and less salty, than more salty and less healthy....so, if that meant masking some of the wear, I'd be on board.
