I doubt it very much. After all, water doesn't damage horses much, does it ? or cotton ! :) Seriously though, I'll keep an eye on the jacket and if the hide looks like it's drying up I'll give it a coat of pecards. I reckon that a jacket of this quality will outlive me so even if I've taken a decade of life out of it with the treatment I'm not too worried. Rich, that jacket is stunning. It will take a long, long time before mine looks half as good.

Wouldn't that be a bother? Coming home after a ride in the rain, and having to Pecard the horse.

I am having a RMNZ B-3 re-dyed. The tanner told me that they do the process at 80 deg. C for several hours !
A few minutes ina bath shouldn't do much harm.
