Advice needed on flight jackets.

He’s been wearing mall jackets too long and needs to make the jump to higher quality clothing. I want to help him thru that process.

I wonder if he wouldn’t be better going for a modern pilot-specific jacket for flying. Somebody like Flight Suits, if they’re still going, and keep the A-2 for off-duty use.

Depends on the budget. But if you want a decent horsehide A-2 without ‘risking’ too much money I’d go with an AVI Bronco in horsehide. Those are great value for the buck, fairly accurate repros and nice fitting too.

Honestly I'd go with a Taylor's leatherwear "CPD" jacket.

They are fitted like a G-1 but with a zip out liner and fur collar.....and they are usually accepted under the insanely different law enforcement agency regulations you Yanks have
