This rationale is why Korea stuff is cheaper than ww2. why D-day provenanced helmets or EASY COMPANY helmets go for more than others. collectors seek out the sexy. Me included. the jacket cant help when it was made however...
I have a friend who is a prolific helmet collector, about anything but french Adrians are his thing. anyhow, in the press during GW2/ OIF there was a picture of a Royal Marine with some hardcore grafitti on his helmet cover. My mate said he would pay hundreds for that helmet and seriously asked me to trace the marine and offer him money for his helmet.. I said well, I was deployed too, I have personalised it whilst deployed... have mine as a gift. thing is it hadnt been in the papers and I was air force so it wasnt worth as much aesthetically as the bootnecks . It started life however quite possibly at the same factory.
a 76 DSA is less collectible I conceed but we are still talking about a 33 year old MINT jacket. One with a 72 DSA in the same shape would not have been worn in nam either owing to it still being in the bag.
I hope you enjoy it whatever your decision.
