Thanks. That's kind of what I was thinking. A fair number of pictures from WWII show the top of the waistband snagged up or bunched around the beltline.
Pictures almost always show jackets zipped up, so it's difficult for me to figure this out: on an A-2, where should the horizontal seam between the leather and the knit waistband fall in relation to the wearer's belt? Are there any pictures of good examples?
You can go to the online LERC Store and buy Skunkworks (and other Lockheed) patches yourself. They've got way better patches than Buzz. Personally, I like the U-2 Dragon Lady "In God we trust, all others we monitor." (I'm not associated with Lockheed or LERC.)
Are or were full-size metal badges (combat, special skill, identification) ever worn on A-2 jackets? These would be things such as the Combat Infantryman, Parachutist, or Drill Instructor badges. If not the metal badges, how about the embroidered sew-on equivalents?
Here's the situation: I'm having artwork designed for what's essentially a commemorative jacket for the unit I was assigned to back in my Army days. (I could tell you the unit, but then I'd have to shoot myself.) I have an embroidered unit patch and service badge for the front, and artwork in...
Thanks, that works in regard to including all words. I poked around in the online PHPBB documentation and forums, and as far as I can tell, there's no way to search for an exact string ("blah blah eastman" in that exact sequence of letters).
This is very annoying. Let's say I want to find information about a specific topic related to Eastman jackets, so I enter "blah blah eastman" and select "search for all terms or use query as entered." Well, the search results say that eastman has been ignored because it's a common word. Well...
I found an L&T Sportswear in Geraldine, Alabama, but I doubt they were ever in LA, since they seem to be basically a feed and grain store that also sells clothing. Another possibility is Lord and Taylor. There's a Lord and Taylor 1970s jacket on Ebay right now. The problem, though, is that it...
Re accessing the Assist website, it's probably a security certificate problem. To a civilian web browser, many .mil domains look like they have bad certificates, but they're really OK. I can click on through IE7's warning, but your web browser may be blocking it completely. Try this link instead...
I've done my due diligence searchwise and found a number of threads dealing with which paint to use, but what leather is best for painting on? Goat or horsehide? Aniline, semi-aniline, oil-pull? Veg or chrome? Russet or seal color? What about spray-on coatings such as Aero uses on its seal brown...
