I do love it, as you can see. The fit is otherwise a dream, and the quality is pure luxury. But as someone with long arms, who has been for decades tormented by short sleeves that seem only to get shorter with time, that aspect would drive me nuts.
My ELC is from just last year. Here are pics of both jackets (Eastman first), “side-by-side.” And I have the cuffs of the BK rolled down, with the sleeves pulled down a bit, as well:
But the sleeves jump much higher with any significant movement, and I’ll bet they shrink up with decent wear.
Just got my BK ARCO a solid 13 months after ordering it and on the plus side, it is an extremely high-quality piece. The leather has an amazingly soft hand, and at the same time the hide feels strong enough to deflect bullets. The cut is perfect for my body, the shoulders fit better than any...
Of course I wouldn’t tour with it, I have Rukka waterproof leathers for that. But I think the B-3 is great for cruising around on my XDiavel, especially with the airbag underneath.
Cool! I did not know that! In any case I love it now. Will post more pics tomorrow, off the model ;)
As to @B-Man2 ’s other point, I do think the Berlin climate is well suited to the warmth of a B-3. Especially as I plan to wear it riding — its bulk is perfect over my Dainese airbag-vest, as well.
Yeah I think you might be right. Any longer than an extra cm or two would be too much. I wear gauntlet gloves when I ride and that sucks when the sleeves are too long.
I have to say I’m really impressed with the quality of this jacket and the job Holly and Christine did taking my measurements...
Anybody know how much B-3 sleeves will shrink or shorten up with wear? I ask because I just got a new Aero 42-22899-P fresh from Galashiels! She’s a beauty and fits damn near perfectly.
If it stays this way forever, I’ll be chuffed. But if the sleeves are going to climb up my wrists over time...
I really want to pull the trigger on one of these 1940's repros from Aero, love the blue wool with white sleeves look (my school colors, too). 1940's Lettermans Jacket
Anyone know of other good repro makers that produce these with horsehide?
