That Hope was massive on me; much much bigger than an orig XL but it seemed well made and was pretty inexpensive.

Where to source "black cotton drill" lining material??

Sorry... I guess I am showing my ignorance on these sort of things ;) I chose "drill" to ask about because that is the material used on several of the Aero moto jackets. Is cotton sateen the stuff used in MA-1 jackets? ...Roger

Where to source "black cotton drill" lining material??

Hi guys. Thanks for the comments and thoughts. I am probably in the minority on this, but I don't like sateen and since I have no intention of selling I want to choose based solely on my wants. It feels cold on the skin and living in Santa Barbara I typically just wear over a short sleeve...

Where to source "black cotton drill" lining material??

In a recent post I showed a couple of pics of my new cafe jacket that was missing its liner. I have come to the conclusion that I want to reline the jacket either in a tartan flannel or a classic black cotton drill. It seems like the drill lining would be more durable and less likely to stain...

    Police leather jackets

Here is a link to my favorite; a Ralph Edwards (yes Edwards of G-1 fame) police moto jacket in sz 46! http://moorecustom.com/jackets/60s_Edwards_cycle_46.htm Don't really ever wear it as I do not have a bike but it is just so cool (imho)... ...Roger p.s. oops I did not see that someone...

    hot water treatment on a 70's G-1

The hot water treatment does not do much to goatskin G-1s; if it is a cowhide E series the hw might add some grain and character. The best way to get rid of odors (n my experience) is to simply hang the jacket on a hanger outside for several days. I have had some that were pretty stinky and...

    Pawn Stars A-2

I went into the shop this past October. There was a short line but we got in in less than 10 minutes. None of the cast were present and 99% of the people in the shop were just looking at the stuff that had been featured in past shows. The places was pretty ratty and dirty and the "retail"...

took me over 2.5 hours ....

My ONLY negative feedback in almost 13 years on eBay was similar... I left a neutral for a seller who misrepresented a vintage Mont Blanc 146 fountain pen. The guy then bought one of my items and left me a negative. Ebay would not remove it. Only negative in 13 years... I was pissed.

The ultimate G1 Maker – what do you all think?

I have had a "couple" of Navy jackets and I have to agree w/ Hacker... the Edmund Church M-422a is the class of the group closely followed by the Block AN-6552 and (inmho) the Edwards B series from '61 and '62. I ended up selling ALL of the my Navy jackets expect a well broken on '62 Edwards B...
