Would this method work with nylon?

Turns out my measuring was fine an a Gibson and Barnes L-R fits just fine! Guess they run large.

Anyone know how the Gibson and Barnes jackets fit? I found a L-R on eBay and according to the measurements (which match closely with measurements from another L-R that sold on another website) it comes out as somehow larger than my size 50 Avi M-422a. I assumed I was doing something horribly...

I reached out to Gibson and Barnes on the off chance they had some unsold stock on hand. They confirmed that they have, in fact, discontinued the WEP jacket and that they don’t have any unsold jackets. Darn. Looks like the Cockpit USA repro is gonna win by default.

I really should have bought one in the spring from Gibson and Barnes when I still had the chance, but I was still in the UK for grad school and didn't want to pay for shipping. D'oh.

Does anyone know how originals fit? I saw an original size 46 on eBay today that got me thinking.

Are you sure Bronson makes a 46 WEP? I can’t seem to find one.

This is the cheap one on eBay I found. It more or less looks like what I want but the colors are a little off and I’m also too much of a perfectionist to accept it, even though it’s very affordable. And also who’s to say the photos are even representative?

I found an original unissued WEP in 48 on eBay but they want over a grand for it. That’s not in the budget right now. Or possibly ever. I thought the pockets on those looked too high up but it makes sense if they lengthened the jacket. Definitely on the list now. I also found a dubious...

48R is fine. But it does have to be a 48, unfortunately.

If Bronsons run large and go to a 46 then I might have a chance… Oh for the days when I could fit into a 42.

Where could I get a custom one made?

I’ve been thinking about getting a repro to WEP jacket for awhile (I wear a 48 so originals in my size don’t crop up often) and I discovered that Gibson and Barnes no longer sells one. Does anyone else make a good repro at a price that won’t make me weep? I think the pockets on the Cockpit USA...

I absolutely love it here. I wish my grad program was longer than a year.
