Spoke to JC about jackets when i visited last week. He mentioned that the Navy jackets take about 3 times more labor to make than A2s and have much more complex design and greater attention to small unseen details. Good thing they do not cost 3x of a comparable A2 of it will be through the roof.

Here it is after HWT number 2 targeted at waist area per JC's directions. ignore the rain drops on the shoulder, i just came in from the cold rain.

Thanks. I will get it next week and if the leather is good will get the liner and knits replaced by my tailor. The scalloped pockets seems different from the later jackets, is that how to tell a M422 from a G1?

What are the various setncil marks on USN jackets? Seems there were several types and in various fonts/ colors. Did these marks appear on specific makes/periods or were they mostly random till the peforated flaps came about in the 50s?
