Okay , I was wondering who what when and where ?Mike
If you’re not familiar with that company, a fellow named Platon makes those jackets . A few of the guys here have them and they really are great jackets
Great jackets. Really happy with mine
Me too
46 ? Well if I ever suffer a chainsaw accident and lose a shoulder and several ribsPlaton used to be part of Bill Kelso manufacturing out of Greece . We think he broke off from them and started his own company JA DuBow . He will only make jackets in standard WWII sizes up to a size 46 . He used to be a member here but got himself banned .
I know Mike .... big guys have a tough time of it . He used to make a 48 but discontinued doing that as well . It probably all comes down to the profit margin . Why make one size 54 jacket when you can take those same hides and make two size 42s and make twice as much money .46 ? Well if I ever suffer a chainsaw accident and lose a shoulder and several ribs
Or get stuck in an industrial press I might consider ordering one, cause that’s the only way I’ll
ever achieve that size.
Yeah and in all honesty I would probably do the same were I in that industryI know Mike .... big guys have a tough time of it . He used to make a 48 but discontinued doing that as well . Because you care of people ?Why make one size 54 jacket when you can take those same hides and make two size 42s and make twice as much money .
I’m in agreement with you however , in the business world this seems to be a low priority in most companies and over shadowed by the “Bottom Line “ which is usually profit .Because you care of people ?
There's also the issue of exclusivity boosting appeal. We bigger guys are assumed to be a poor image for anything halfway stylish or youthful, regardless of how well we might wear clothes.I know Mike .... big guys have a tough time of it .
