What jacket(s) are you wearing at the moment?

Owning one of the seemingly rare BR 37J1s in 44 I can say that I usually wear 46 sized jackets and this BR still fits great :)
I could have even gone one size smaller and it still would fit and look nice I guess...
So if you are not close to 48 sized G-1s or even A-2s but somewhere between a size 44 and 46, a 42size BR 37J1 might do the trick as well...
Thanks for that info.... I still haven’t seen one for sale in any size. Have you?

I have had one 44 in all the years. Around five in total. Two 42s and two 40s... Moved them all on. Could not abide the collars.... If you can handle a tight 40, and shipping via Seamail only. There is a cheap 40 on Yahoo....

Unfortunately they are really extremely rare...I was so happy when I got mine 1 1/2 years ago when BR offered them again and I made sure to place my order as soon as I saw the Eastman guys announcing it on Insta via their BR Europe dealership...
Fardin of White feather had a size 44 on offer for about 6 months till someone grabbed it unexpectedly as it came together with a name tag contrary to mine and such jackets usually don't sell well here in Austria...same problem if the jackets are stencilled...Fardin experienced this with the BR deck jackets...that's why my deck hook doesn't have the US Navy stencil on the back, unfortunately...

Took the Dubow for a walk. I’m still a bit unsure about the fit. It feels really roomy. The pockets are so wide apart that it gives the front a peculiar drape. Also, the Dubow collar is one of the smallest I’ve seen, albeit really stylish, but I prefer them bigger and higher. I’ll see, but if I end up not liking it I’ll just sell it along with the Star and use the money to buy a BK.

it’s definitely roomy Greg, but in a way that looks very accurate to some of the WW2 photos I’ve seen. I’d keep it, as it’s useful for layering, and maybe buy a BK of a different contract for variety. ;)

Sideways or not, that is the best one you have Nick and probably the best one you've had.

DO NOT move that one on, have second thoughts about it, or start thinking "this isn't quite right, this could be 1/4 inch short/longer here...etc, etc".

It's the definition of a keeper. You're not allowed to move that on (VLJ Law, Section 17, Paragraph 4b) ;-)

Greg I have to say I think that fit looks good on you and to be honest the jacket looks pretty good but it’s tough
If you got niggles then I figure your not happy with it so guess it’s time to get it sold along with the Star...the hunt goes on
