Were mid/late war Lightning Irvin zipper sliders/teeth ever brass

So I'm in contact with Lewis Leathers to buy a new Lightning zipper but their's are only made in a gold plated brass (?) . Were they ever made this way in wartime? Anybody have some pics of one if so?

I believe Jojo at Jojos General Store on Ecclesall Road Sheffield has a small supply of Lightning zipper sliders/pulls in silver and brass. Just the pulls not the complete zipper but if you need a replacement pull contact him. If you Google him you’ll get his contact details.
