For sale on ebay right now, http://cgi.ebay.com/USAAF-Type-A-1-...382?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a645cf746. Not in the position to bid, or I would. I wanted to post this cap because it would make a great cap to make a reproduction of for WWII flight jacket wear. This is only the second one of these I have ever seen.

Dean,
Neat cap! Interestingly, the visor is a surplus A-1 - with the same drawing number as the add-on bill with snaps. The construction appears identical to the one I have.
So someone was making these using the bills.
Besides the drawing number, you can tell the bill is of a different material than the body of the cap. I can even see the stitched bar tack peeking out from the body in the second pic - also present at the base of the A-1 visor.
Cool cap for sure. Stop giving me ideas!
Thanks for posting,
Dave
