I agree that with a picture of the back one could tell for sure, but from the front it looks to be an original WW II patch. You can see the green twill around the edges and it is fully embroidered, rather than having marrowed edges, like more modern patches have.
Also, it has not been until fairly recently that they have started to make decent reproductions of this patch. I remember back in the in the Vietnam era that these could be had in surplus stores for 5 to 10 cents each. They were really common.
