Very nice...leather looks better than the (my old) LW Dubow, color and texture. Is the finish just a s durable as the LW...
the BR hide looks pale in comparison

the finish is designed to fade easily with wear and the color of the hide underneath to show through

Looks very nice. In my mind, BK are rapidly becoming the best bang-for-buck repro maker in the mid to high end market.

BK great looking jacket. I have been watching you come out with these and I'm really impressed as I have owned almost every repo in the book from Cockpit to Good Wear. Were are you making these jackets? If you don't mind me asking?

Unless something has changed ...Greece.

Patton....when wil these be available? ACTUALLY available, not available "to order"?
What is going on with production of the other contracts? Supply line stabilized ?

Is it just me, or do these jackets look like what I imagine the issued jackets must have looked like in WWII? Having seen tons of WWII A-2's, these seem like what those might have looked like more than most repros I've seen or owned. That doesn't mean I like them better or not, but do you see what I'm saying? They look really good. Like one a pilot woulda got issued.
Just need to see 'em on some folks to believe :)

Nice work Platon, leather and labels look excellent too. Not that i've had an orig Dubow to compare with but I do own an RMNZ and my only comment would be don't copy their collar shape as I understand it's not accurate- it has an exagerated (as Mr Rott would call it) swoop and should have a straighter outer edge. The swoop makes the RM collar tips curl outward over time.

Hi guys,
Once again must say that wouldn't have done it without receiving enormous amount of help from a very generous and noble man Mr John Chapman to whom BK ows a lot.

Yes, the collar on RM is exaggerated. The collar on original Dubow BK has is straight. So we gave it just a very little swoop, nothing like the RM. We have of course collar pattern for straight and for swoop and can make either one, so it will be the customer's choice.

BK is working to offer this jacket via a shop in the UK and I will let you know how this goes.

Do you mean its an exclusive for them to have this jacket ??
Would that not mean it will be dearer for us to purchase as the retailer will need his margin
Or are you suggesting we as consumers can buy it on the web at one price or buy it at the "shop" for another higher price ?

If the deal goes through they will have it exclusively for a short period of months during which this jacket will not appear on the Bill Kelso website.

The retailer will probably sell at a reasonably higher price at his physical shop because the jackets will be available there for the customers to try on and there will be no waiting time. The retailer has also a webshop and attends Duxford shows etc.

Oh, Duxford! Interesting, so I guess the ELC boys may try to sneak in and check your jackets out!

That's a good question, cmk-2. BK is based in Greece, but there is no mention on the BK web site as to where the jackets are actually made; the business and the production facility could easily be in different nations.

Sneak in??? A nighttime recce led by the SAS or just when no one was looking? Perhaps disguised as a serpent or Jacob Dubow??? Why would you conclude ELC staff may want to sneak in to see the jackets? Am I missing something that would preclude Gary himself from simply walking in the entrance?

Assuming that ELC is not the proposed outlet of course...
Elsewhere GW is selling products from Real McCoys of Japan...

The following is from BK website

Our jackets are produced in our shop by a leather outerwear specialist with many years of experience.

Anyone who has bought a jacket received it from the Greek post office, neither the Pakistani, nor the Chinese.
Trust me it's impossible to have the jackets made elsewhere for a hundred reasons that I will not discuss here, but you can PM me if you really need to know.

ELC doesn't need to "sneak in". Anyone who wants to see the jackets there will be there to see. No need to play spies to see them.

I think I speak for most when I say we just want to see them! Perhaps there are so many new improved jackets on the horizon that there is seldom a chance for "current" jackets to get out there?
We still have yet to hear from anyone with a review on a recent contract A-2.
IMO, if you aren't careful, with costs steadily increasing and wait times getting longer, the bargain will be lost. Not trying to criticize but just letting out what I sense is felt by many - many who would like one of your jackets if they had more concrete evidence that they won't be waiting indefinately.
Just free jacket snob business advice.
JMO and keep 'em coming!
