Slideshow test- WWII Allied Aircrew

This is a test of software and Vimeo video hosting. I threw in a heap of images that were in my files to make a slideshow that puts everything together. Most will be easily recognized.

I think it's working.

(I'd like to figure out how to make it post a thumbnail of it though.) Done!

Higher res version loaded now. I think I need to do some more research to fix the bugs....

This time I highlighted the http link and clicked the "video" button in the compose text window. Hope that's working for you Dave.

I tried to embed it, and previewed my post when you first posted the link ... all I got was a big white square. Now with Flash Player 9 installed, I'm still getting a big white square.

I'm sure it works for everyone else. :(

Thanks Marcel and Fab.

Dave, what happens if i just cut and past the URL? I imagine if you can't see that it's a browser type of issue? Can you see any of the vids on Vimeo?

Working for me. Thanks for posting!
Finally a compilation of combat flyers photos that don't make me feel "over the hill" at 43!

Not for me it doesn't, sorry to say. Literally a blank rectangle as in typical of a certain type of English weather: fog, visibility zero.

Yes, and thanks Andrew, but don't worry about me ... I'm just too lazy to upgrade. :)

Andrew, thanks for putting all these great images together in one place. I have never seen so many Irvin pics in one place before! ;)

Thanks, Andrew. A great slide show, and sound track. Given what they went through, I'm amazed they're smiling. Brave lads, all. Thanks, again.

Simmo, there's not one place, like most of us they've been collected over many years of net trawling, often from leads from guys on the forum- and these are just a selection of many more. I had to limit the number as it was just so long. This one file is 100Mb.

Andrew, I was collecting the Irvin shots for our book.......... Have to put them together somewhere till that happens ;) .

Ben, that's something that struck me as well, all the smiles. The pics range across many different theatres and Nationalities but the common theme is mateship (and vintage flying gear). How many of those faces never made it home.

I've included a few shots of fellows I know well now, and it's interesting for me to see them in the context of the bigger picture.

Works well on my Macbook as well as my PC. Great "Show" Andrew. Some lovely colour Irvins in there as well as some rich brown A2s and B3s. Love the music too !!
