OK, I'm thinking this is a private purchase, notice the button pockets, no label. Interesting patch. Anyone have any ideas about this jacket?

Yes, it's a private purchase jacket. The horizontal seam on the back of the sleeves is a real giveaway.

You try finding a back photo of a Security A-2, but I guess not. I assume that the specs were clear about this, just as they were for the A-1.

The eBay jacket also differs by having top stitched sleeves, and an absence of collar snaps.

SAT A2s had collar stands which this one lacks. If the zipper is original to the jacket it most likely dates to the early 40s rather than the 30s. However it might be a SAT civilian jacket.
