Never trust those Roadshow guys...

Was watching the UK Antiques Roadshow, they were filming in Kirkby with the Just Jane Lancaster in the background. Buddy brought in a 1970s/80's sheepskin jacket (you know the ones made to approximate a B-3, but with no map pocket, sueded brown surface and black seam tapes, as well as handwarmers). the so-called "expert" appraised it as a WW2 B-3 worth 500-700 pounds!

Yes, I saw the programme some time ago when it was first shown in the UK. It does show how specialised evaluating sheepskin jackets is and how easily "experts" get things wrong.

My wife can not fathom some of the values they put forward. Tianna is puzzled how pristine items from the 1500s and 1600s in the UK can be worth a few hundred pounds and then something from the 50s is worth 1000s?? I know makers, hallmarks and availability mean a great deal but to maintan something for near on 500 years?? Amazing..
