Need Help Identifying TV Show Jacket

Hi all! Bit of a random request. I've been trying to identify a costume jacket from the TV show "Boy Meets World" (1993-2000). The character Shawn is seen in this jacket often throughout the show. The actor, Rider Strong, was given the jacket after filming ended and it was stolen out of his car about 20 years ago. He now does a podcast with two of his old costars and they and the fans would all love to know what brand/type the jacket is. The actors have asked the costume designer and she said it was vintage, but doesn't remember details. All we have to go by is pictures from the show, so I'll attach some screenshots. The show is from the 90s so not the best quality. The show started airing in 1993 so I'd guess the jacket is from the 80s or earlier. I've been scouring the internet and can't find anything quite like it. I found this forum so joined to see if any enthusiast detectives can help out. It seems silly, but would be really cool to be able to identify the jacket, which became iconic for the character and the fans over the years and is sentimental to the actors.

Things I've observed from looking at pictures and watching the show:

-It's black leather
-It has a single breast zipper pocket on the right (as you're looking at it.)
-It has a half belt back with buckles at the back sides and two straps on either side that go through the buckles.
-No cuff buttons or zippers from what I can tell.
-The front two pockets are like a patch with an angle at the outer edge and a welt type pocket slit sewn at a diagonal.
-There's a small flap change pocket on the right side (as you're looking at it) that looks like it closes with a snap.
-The back has a bi swing fold. (At least this is what I think it's called? It's the deep pleats in the back shoulder).
-It has epaulettes sewn on with an X shaped stitch.
-The zipper appears to have a leather tab pull attached to it.
-The collar lapel doesn't have any notches, it's just one simple point.

Any clues are appreciated. Thank you!

Hello and welcome to VLJ.
I’m not familiar with this jacket but I can offer a few suggestions . From the look of the jacket and the over sizing of it, the jacket looks to be what we commonly refer to as a “Mall Jacket” of that 1990s to 2000 period. The jackets were big and oversized and often had a motorcycle or military style look to them. The point being is that these jackets were made by a number of companies in large quantities and sold all around the US. So that’s my take on the jacket .However , the good news is that with your photos and description of this jacket it could be very easily duplicated by a custom made jacket manufacturer at a reasonable price . I’d suggest you check with 5 Star Leather Company as they are well established in making leather jackets at reasonable prices . If you wanted a better quality jacket and are willing to pay a little more , Aero Leather of Scotland can probably make the jacket. Aero actually has several jacket styles like the one you’re looking for as well .
So now you at least have a couple of options for acquiring a repro of the jacket . Others will come by and offer their opinions and options .
Good luck with your search .

What they said. :) It’s an unusual style, a cross between a half belt and a D-pocket bike jacket. Not seen anything like it before.

Update! A fan of the show has identified the jacket as the brand Hein Gericke if anyone is interested. They were able to find it on ebay.
