I had a customer request for some rustic looking mouton on his custom M-422a jacket. He wanted blond fur but I only had new mouton with soft straight hair in blond. I remembered some experiments I had conducted in the past and it worked perfectly.
The process is simple, wet the fur completely. Apply a small amount of all natural shampoo. Lather and rinse. Towel dry and then blow dry the fur and leather sides slowly. Don't overheat it.
Here are the results: Untouched on the right, rustic on the left.
