Great suggestion. I have filled in mine right from the start.
I think it is a very nice and (sometimes) usefull addition to our profiles. The internet enables us to communicate with its each other without meeting face to face, almost for the first time in technological history, at least at this scale and this easy.
Technology enables us to discuss subjects, exchange information -and occasionaly get into heated arguments - on a 1:1 basis and on a 1:1000 a the touch of a key on the keyboard - without getting to know anything at all about the person behind the keyboard and screen.
So yes: the addition of an approximate location indication is much appreciated.
That is also - one step further - why I have posted a photo of myself as my avatar picture: So as to say: "It is me you're talking to".
