I know but I like better vintage styled with buttons than any others, plus given the price they still are on fleabay anybody would be crazy not to buy them for 15, I have others in my collection, the 1902, the 70,s big E Japanese selvedge, these cost me less than a decent t-shirt go figure

When I had a physique of a Roman God I used to wear a certain model of Levi (can't remember the number.....530 something) that had thr old Mod stove pipe look going on

Nowadays I just wear Kay Canvas "Denim,BD" since they have a rather high waist

Picked up a pair of LVC Japan 1944 wartime 501's from Hinoya to start breaking in. After wearing them some I'll report back how they're breaking in. First impressions are they have all the details right for war time 501's: plain copper rivets, laurel wreath waist button / steel donut button fly, mattress tick cotton pocket bags, painted actuates, all cotton stitching, nice high rise and dark indigo selvage denim.

The jeans came, not lvc but just as good enough for me, high waisted, buttons, levis 201 Ltd edition, as good a fit as my levis 1902, love loose high waisted low seat jeans

I think all store bought jeans I've seen in photos are all cuffed and cutting them off is a modern trend

Tailoring jeans is a thing? Man, I miss my youth when we went to the mall, bought our Levis at the "jean" store and wore them until they didn't fit anymore. Then handed them down to my brother.

Yep Chandler for some, take to the seamstress and get them taken up, me I cuff them, didn't come from a silver spoon household meself either so I know about hand me downs

I had to dig into some research -- it *was* the GAP. Guess it was just a smaller entity in the late 70s.
