Is this a M-422?

It could be. It could also be a 55J14 or an early G-1. It does not have the original zipper so that makes it dificult to date. The scalloped pockets tell me that it is an Early G-1 at the latest 1955 or so. I don't recall exactly when the spec came out for the rounded pocket flaps.
