Help with a Squadron Insignia

This a stated 13th troop carrier squadron, is it an unauthorized version?

As far as I've been able to find on it was it was used by the squadron , but was Not an "approved" design during WW-2 .
I have seen it in a cloth version and this was "supposedly" a Korean era patch .
