Guadalcanal VMO-251 Plane clock

I wanted to share pictures of this plane clock from a VMO-251 plane. It is named to Longley who was a pilot with VMO-251 in the darkest hours of Guadalcanal. It is one of the items I have that I will never sell. The date is hard to see on the pics but it says 1942

Nice clock -- it's great to have such provenance. I have a nearly identical Waltham CDIA clock on the shelf in my office but it badly needs regulating so I don't bother winding it up. One of these days I will get around to having it fixed.

That's a beauty Tom. I'd never sell it either. Is it running ?

On and off Peter. In the summer it works like a champ. It does not seem to much like winter days though and stops a lot then It needs a cleaning.
