Good Wear on the job

Sometimes being the producer is a lonely job. Specially when there's no more room in the copter once the director, camera operator and equipment are loaded in! Major bummer.

Anyone considering getting a Good Wear made from the russet goatskin shouldn't hesitate. It's really cool how these hides wear in and start forming wrinkles and creases just like 65 year old goat. Speaking of old goat, that's me wearing the GW Rough Wear 18901.

Grant -

I have a GW Bronco Goat in the queue - Hopefully it will be here next month - John sent me a GS jacket to try on a little while ago and I was hooked once I saw it. Color, texture, weight are excellent. Can't wait.

Best,
Bill K.

Grant,

I see you're dressed to the "T" as usual. It's great you can we your cool clothing on the job like that. I imagine in your line of work there are more people who are attuned to their esoteric details? Where I work people couldn't tell vintage jeans from walmart specials.

If you can post some photos it'd be great to see how the Bronco fits.
I'll see what I can do... been meaning to post a review for awhile but haven't gotten around to it.

On the very subject of Goodwear and Mr JC, I've sent a couple of emails as I'm very keen on a sale jacket on his website but to date no response - given the time difference in UK and West Coast US its not always/convenient easy to phone but is that the only way?

Particulalry keen on the 44" A1 - I'm a modern 42"/original 44" - bearing in mind the much covered topic of JC's sizing can anyone reckon this would be OK, measurements seem about right and I know an A1 should be a 'snug' fit but I'm not sure of his returns policy on a sale jacket!

With all this love and affection for Goodwear I'm keener than ever!!!

I'm waiting with baited breath for these Bronco pics.

C'mon fella, we need some jacket porn. :D

Guys -

I will be more than happy to post pics of the jacket as soon as I get it - I'll ask John for an update, don't know where I am in the 9 to 10 week production cycle, my guess is some time next month????

I actually tried on a couple of his jackets - size 46 HH Dubow and a 46 GS Bronco and neither fit me the way I was hoping. So, I sent John my original 46 Dubow, which fits really nicely, and had him copy the build of the jacket to the GS Bronco. John was very suprised by my original 46 Dubow as it was a much different cut then all the other Dubow's he has seen in that size. The armholes, for example, were very large, the width of the sleeve at the cuff was generous, and overall the jacket had a much more boxy cut that he has seen in Dubow jackets. He immediately made a HH Dubow utilized the cut and pattern of the jacket I sent him, except he trimmed up the sleeve width at the cuff. I don't know if he has since sold that jacket to anyone else or kept it for himself.

Meanwhile, I still patiently await my GS Bronco. Again, I will post pics as soon as I receive the jacket.

Best to all!

The repro Bronco GS John is currently making for me is based on the measurements of the original Dubow on the left. Again, when I get the Bronco GS I will post photos asap.
