FiveStar Poughkeepsie A-2

Well gang it finally arrived. Here is the first look at the new FiveStar Poughkeepsie A-2 in seal steer with matching seal wool knit and thread.

I took a couple pictures next to my seal Dubow. You can see the contrast between the dull purple and seal knits. And although they’re both seal, the Poughkeepsie has a noticeable brown tint compared to almost black tint of the dubow.

I’m a little pressed for time tonight, but tomorrow I will do a proper write up and fit pictures.

Yes I’m going to take more pictures in natural light when I’m off work this evening.

Ok I had a little time today and snapped a couple pictures of the jacket under natural light. It looked fairly brown inside, but outside, it looks almost black.

And a fast fit pic. I make a poor model being such a big guy in a jacket made with thin kids in mind. I’ve noticed the pockets are almost on the side, under my arms. Is that a feature of the Poughkeepsie? It’s also interesting that this jacket is the same measurements as my dubow, but is skin tight.

Nice! Congratulations WingAndaPrayer! I wonder if the wider sleeves of the dubow contract are what makes the difference in the fit...?

It’s tighter across the shoulders, but not uncomfortable. It bows the epaulettes but doesn’t “pile” at the edge of the shoulder like the dubow. Also the collar doesn’t ride up as bad as the Dubow.

Wow in natural light that jacket looks amazing, looks good indoors also but in the sun it just pops

It’s very thick but not stiff. I really like the leather quality.

I mentioned the knits being nice so I thought I would expand on that with a picture of the different colors. Top is my seal dubow with the dull purple, middle is my russet dubow with russet knits and bottom is seal Poughkeepsie. The spot of sun coming through really shows how nice the purple is. I’m very pleased with it.
