Hi Shawn, I have a B-10 in production right now. Very glad I came across this post. Do you sell the russet winter gloves without the Air Force stamp? Thanks, John Luder

Thank you very much! I had indeed started looking at these, but their price and the fact that I'm thinking of getting a Bronson B10 for the winter make me want to get USAAF gloves first rather than USN, as my M422-A is a bit thin for winter ;). So I'm investigating in that direction at the moment.
Bronson B-10s, direct from them, are in short supply, and I do mean short. Nothing larger than a 38, I think. I've ordered a B-10 from Shawn. It's in production right now. I'll post the results here and what-are-you-wearing when it arrives. Now I want the russet gloves, also, but without the stamp. My B-10 is also without the left shoulder stamp, the way my step-father's was, and the original that I had in the '70s.

Maybe think about some of those great gloves:

I just love em, and you can wear them with all kinds of jackets.

@Shawn Ali, can you please confirm what size of A-10 glove to choose for a 20cm hand length? If I choose the size based on the circumference alone, the fingers will very likely be too short for me.

Thank you for your help sir!

No real sizing advice - they look good to me. I'd just measure your hand loosely and follow the instructions. Another option you might consider, since your collection so far, iirc, is Navy jackets, would be these:

Navy's equivalent of the A-10s. About €100, so more expensive than the Five Star ones, but MASH makes nice stuff.

Thanks for sharing this link Jan. I've been wanting a pair of M-387G gloves, but wasn't going to purchase the ELC ones for $185 USD + shipping. I placed an order for a pair from MASH earlier this afternoon.

maybe not a "development" that might be important for purist-collectors and specialists which we have on the forum - important for me anyway coz it makes my wife "happy" and we all know "Happy wife - Happy Life" ... :)

i meanwhile ordered the 2nd highly modified A2 for my beloved one and she loves it

@Shawn Ali did an awesome job in translating the dimensions i gave him into a A2 "lookalike"

Again - it is not about "accuracy" but it is about making my wife kinda "part of the hobby" and get her excited to wear such jackets. On the first occasion she was wearing the jacket we got an offer for 2 pair of brandnew western boots in croc as a trade in - since the jacket is a single piece she refused

The newer one is on the right in black goatskin with removeable mouton-collar - the one in brown HH was already made 1.5 yrs ago

An update on the A-9 project with Shawn! I wasn't going to share this, because Shawn hadn't specifically given me permission, but I imagine he'd be fine with it, and, with several on-going threads being rather dreary right now, I think we could use a palette cleanser.

Shawn has so far made two prototypes for the A-9 gauntlets. Both have used the Dubow goatskin. The first (on the right below) paired it with collar fur, and not only was the color wrong, but the gloves were extremely bulky and uncomfortable to wear. So that's a no-go. On the second prototype (to the left), Shawn had the goatskin skived from 1.2mm down to 0.7-0.8 mm. Because Five Star was out of their thinner shearling, Shawn used their fake shearling. The results are very close to the originals (center), but they need to wait for a re-stock of shearling before they go into production:

Shawn and I have something new cooking that isn’t reproduced ANYWHERE else. Ever since I first got a B-3 jacket, I’ve wanted a pair of the shearling-lined A-9 mittens that went with the jacket. But nobody makes them!

So I managed to find a gorgeous, practically pristine pair made by Perry. I was a little nervous sending them halfway around the world - I mean, who KNOWS what could happen along the way! But Shawn just told me they arrived and sent along a picture this morning. So folks who want to will soon be able to buy a pair of these:

Minor update on the A-9 mittens project from Shawn. He's got a sample (or maybe the whole order?) of fleece for the A-9 gauntlets. I'm not sure if he designed an entirely new shearling for this project, or if he has plans to use this stuff for some of his other offerings, but he just sent me pictures.

The mittens look terrific, and so does the fleece. I didn't know they used read fleece since my 6552s have the blend.
I've been pleased with all of my jackets from 5 Star. And they're good about responding, unless the guys in Pakistan are off for a holiday.
When I don't hear back right away, that's all I can attribute it to, but those days don't necessarily correspond to any dates found on a google search.
Do you have any thoughts about what's up right now?
And BTW, Shawn have never replied to any of the emails I've sent to the email address given for him.
Cheers
