I can't speakfor everyone in this field, but I can speak for Aero (After all we started this whole genre ) Only our military jackets and a handful 7 or 8 are pure reproductions. All our other designs are our own interpretations of an era's style and design based on how we would have made that type of jacket had we been in business "back in that day"But... aren't the jackets from repro manufacturers just copies in and of themselves? Or am I missing something? Copying copies is bad?
Hence the way our 30s designs fit differently to our 50s designs
Despite the fact that our designs and concept has been replicated all over the planet and if we had a fiver for eyery time we were asked to copy a McCoy/Lewis/Mushmans/ELMC etc etc jacket we could all have a good night out on the proceeds.....we never did. Respect to others labours
We do now sell the 1930s Levi Jackets we made for LVC 1999-2003 but that's with Levi's blessing for all the help and work we did while they were lauching the LVC brand
