Dried out Mouton Collar

I have a vintage California Sportswear 7823 G-1 that seems to have a dried out mouton collar. The collar is beginning to lose clumps of fur and it is getting worse every time I wear it. Aside from replacing the mouton collar, does anyone have any idea how to treat it to keep this from accelerating?

I don't think there is anything you can do I am afraid. Just replace the entire collar at some point

It is the base layer that holds the fur that is deteriorating, drying out. If you even try to comb out the mouton, huge clumps of fur get pulled off. It is a dead mouton.

You need to have someone replace the mouton part of the collar.

sorry to say that
the only thing that can stop the mouton hair from falling is... the floor

BK can replace the mouton for a reasonable cost
