Sfunny, he looks a bit like me in profile... Strange the uncomfortable way he's wearing his helmet with the lower corner folded under- like he quickly stuck it on for the shot.

James I would say yes, never seen one on anything earlier than about 1941. I have also seen lots of pics of FAA with standard Irvins.
