chrome vs veg tanned

Does anyone can explain the difference between chrome and veg tanned leather ? How the look differ, and how does it ages (patina, ect)

oups, sorry i missed that one.. thanks for reply.
Ok, i read it, does not seem to make a big difference, except hide may be softer when using Chrome.
But about how the leather will age ? especially the color ? will become darker, paler ? or does not rely on chrome or veg-tanned options ?

I know that chrome tanned leathers are very bad for the environment.

Not a pleasant process as it involves chromium(III) sulphate.

Whether or not veg tanned leathers will discolor depends on the finish.
There are a very few tanneries that still employ veg tanning as it is a much longer process. It takes months.

I believe that many of the wwii leathers were chrome tanned.

Was chrome-tanning used on some Horsehide ww2 A-2 jackets? Has anyone here seen an original in horsehide that was?
