But I remember back in about 2008 seeing a RL A-2 in David Jones in Melbourne which actually was rather good with very nice leather and a darn sight more accurate than that one above. The price though was ridiculous.

Ralph Lauren has made some interesting items over the years. I've seen an embroidered M41 field jacket that was surprisingly accurate. Their military stuff isn't made in large numbers, and it all goes for a large amount. Just like a lot of high-end fashion, it's all about what you paid for it, otherwise folks could easily get the look much less expensively.
